Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening lightens the colour pigments that build up in the enamel and dentine over time, using whitening gels applied under a dentist’s supervision. No tooth structure is removed. With professional (in-clinic) whitening at DSA Dental Smile Art in Kuşadası, we can usually lighten your teeth by several shades in a single session.

What is teeth whitening and who is it for?

Tea, coffee, smoking, red wine and age all naturally darken the teeth. In professional whitening, the gums are protected first and a high-strength whitening gel is applied to the teeth to break down the colour pigments.

Who is it suitable for?

  • People with yellowing or darkening caused by age, tea, coffee or smoking
  • Adults with healthy teeth and no decay or gum disease
  • Anyone who wants to lighten their teeth before smile design

Important: fillings, crowns and veneers are not affected by whitening. For medication-related (tetracycline) or severe staining, whitening may not be enough; in that case veneers or zirconia crowns may be recommended. Whitening is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Free examination: the first examination, panoramic X-ray and, where needed, a 3D CT scan are free at our clinic. Your treatment plan and timeline are given to you in writing after the examination.

Our experienced dentists use up-to-date treatment methods to give you the best possible dental health and aesthetics.

Teeth Whitening Technology

The modern equipment in our clinic makes the whitening process both comfortable and effective, and the treatment is designed to whiten natural teeth; the shade change varies from person to person.

How Is Teeth Whitening Done?

Consultation and Examination

Before starting teeth whitening, we at DSA Dental Smile Art prepare a treatment plan tailored to each patient’s needs. In this first step, the current condition of your teeth is examined in detail so that the most suitable whitening method can be chosen.

The Whitening Procedure

Safe and effective whitening agents are applied to your teeth using the modern technology available in our clinic, which keeps the procedure quick and comfortable.

Final Check and Aftercare Advice

Once whitening is complete, the new shade of your teeth is assessed. You are also given personal aftercare advice to help the results last longer and to keep your teeth healthy and attractive.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does teeth whitening damage the teeth?
When done correctly under a dentist's supervision, it does not permanently damage the enamel. Temporary sensitivity may occur and usually settles within 1–2 days.
How long does whitening take?
In-clinic whitening is completed in a single session of about 45–90 minutes.
How many shades lighter will my teeth get?
It depends on the starting colour and structure of the teeth; usually several shades lighter.
How long do the results last?
Usually 1–2 years, depending on diet and smoking habits.
Will fillings and crowns whiten too?
No. Whitening only affects natural tooth structure; old fillings on front teeth can be replaced to match the new colour.
What should I be careful about after whitening?
For the first 48 hours, avoid tea, coffee, cola, red wine and smoking, and limit strongly coloured or spicy foods.
Will my teeth be sensitive?
Some people have temporary sensitivity to hot and cold; it usually goes away on its own within 1–2 days.
Who should not have whitening?
It is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for people with active decay or gum disease, or for under-18s.
Do I have to pay for the examination?
No. The first examination at our clinic is free.
Whitening or veneers?
If your teeth are healthy and you only want a colour change, whitening is the first choice. If the shape also needs correcting, veneers may be considered.
